Worn teeth and night-time grinding

Many people grind or clench their teeth at night without knowing it. Over the years the teeth become shorter, the edges chip and the bite slowly collapses.

Signs to look for

Flat or chipped front teeth, sensitive teeth, tired jaw muscles in the morning, or a partner who hears you grinding at night.

What can be done

In early stages, a night guard protects the teeth. When a lot of tooth structure is lost, full-mouth rehabilitation restores the bite height and rebuilds the teeth, for function and appearance.

The earlier it is noticed, the simpler the treatment.

The information here is general and does not replace an examination.
